Cheap Steals for Card Making
Let’s face it, we make cards for our friends and family who are celebrating their special day or any other occasion that is worth celebrating simply because we are short on budget but we still want to give them something that they would appreciate and treasure forever. This is the reason why, it is quite futile if we would decide to make a handmade card but we would splurge on the materials that we will be using to complete our masterpiece.
The sad thing about the craft industry nowadays is that it is now more of a profitable endeavor rather than a creative one. More and more businessmen and entrepreneur are taking advantage of the craze and obsession of many to these craft projects by selling overpriced craft materials and items. Once they are questioned about it, these shrewd businessmen would answer that convenience should come with a price. They should be paid for the effort that they exert for finding these wonderful stuff that could really add charm and beauty to our card making project.
How about let’s teach these businessmen and entrepreneur a lesson? Let’s show them that we can also scout for ourselves and we could also find those “wonderful finds” that they are selling for twice or even thrice its original price. Well, looking for these cheap yet adorable materials that we could use for our card making project is like making a craft in itself. It would require creativity and you would have to exhaust all possible means and look for unexpected places in order for you to have that eureka moment!
Sometimes we are way too familiar with these unexpected places where we could find these materials but we are too lazy to find them. For instance, we all know that we could find wonderful materials at home particularly on stuff that we are already close to throwing away. We are more often too lazy to spend a day to clean our house and find some scrap that are full of creative potential along the way.
The other avenue where we could find wonderful scrap materials that could complement our craft project is at the clearance aisle in every shopping center. The clearance aisle is every shopper’s nightmare. The disarray of items on sale and the large number of people who are rummaging through it is one of the most stressful scene to behold. This is the reason why we would often skip this aisle although we know for a fact that we could find lots of things that could save us lots of money in this aisle.
